Sound

Sound Planning for sound with the new plot.      Hiii! I hate to break it, but...we changed our entire opening sequence and plot. Everything was so mixed-match, and I was getting very frustrated that we couldn't execute the scenes properly since it dealt with such dark and intense topics, especially with our fight scene. I was practically at a dead end trying to patch up our mistakes since it resembled so much of a trailer. Hence, this blog will explore the new concept of our project, and I will create new blogs redoing and explaining it soon! Editing Process:      The editing will be done mostly by me because I used to run an editing account, so I am the most experienced in editing. However, everyone will definitely help out as we will edit together when we meet up to film and discuss our project. We will be using Adobe as our editing software since Jaden gets it for free due to taking Com-Tech as one of his electives. Additionally, we will be using non-copyrighted music from diff

Day 1 of Shooting

Day 1 of Shooting Spoiler Alert: it was half good and half bad. Overview Our first day of filming was definitely hectic and messy. Honestly, it was kind of a last-minute scramble to meet up since we had no footage yet, and it was already late February. We focused on the establishing shots and the scenes between Jaden and Jason since they came over to my house. HOWEVER, tomorrow on Friday, we are actually going to lock in because we will have our side character, which is Anna Miller, played by our dear friend Melissa, and Rafael and Isabella are all going to assist with filming. Additionally, Jaden is most likely driving to BECON TV with Jason to get equipment for us, such as a camera, lights, and a microphone. Thus, hopefully, tomorrow will be better. Filming After school, we all gathered at my house and started at 5PM after I came home from mentoring at an elementary school. We began by crafting a missing person poster of Jason and printed it up after a lot of debate over how it shou

Filming Updates!

FILMING UPDATES! Slight Tweaks and Changes      Greetings, my dear bloggers! Are you ready to hear about my opening sequence changes? Not to brag or anything , but I'm using my AICE English Language blogging skills (that I recently just learned) right now! Inspiration from the BECON TV guy:      A guy from BECON TV paid our class a visit around a week ago, and he actually provided so much new information and showed examples of his own program and business. For example, he showed us a video made by one of his students of a young girl wanting to be a superhero. I found it interesting that he altered and used the rule of the thirds uniquely. The girl was not in composition guidelines and instead was in the middle and below, but it helped emphasize her motivation and dreams being stripped away, making the shot look strange and that she was out of place. However, it wasn't only this, but he also showed the multiple shots used, allowing the director to have more control over

Supporting Characters

Image
Supporting Characters The only and only...Anna Miller!!!      Anna Miller is a very trustful and soft character added in to balance the disarrayed mental states of the two brothers, who are the main characters of our story. In more detail, she is a flat and static character. She has soft features with clean makeup consisting of mascara, lipgloss, a slight blush, and straight eyebrows. Her costume is a blue shirt, denim jeans, and white and brown sandals, and her hair is in a mid-high ponytail. Moreover, the only prop that she has is a phone, which is used for the phone call between her and Jaden Davis when he talks about the disappearance of his brother (Jason Davis) and the strange occurrences that have been happening around him. Thus, she is a simple and pleasant person, supporting the two brothers and their journey.      My group wanted Anna to be the comforting character, providing a safe space for both brothers to rely on and come to for their problems. During the phone call,

Color Use

Image
Color Use ~ Power of Color ~ Background:     At the beginning of the opening sequence, where Jaden Davis is seen putting up missing person posters, it is nighttime, so the background is completely black. As a result, this evokes a fearful mood as the darkness provides a sense of mystery. Thus, the audience might feel paranoid about the fact they cannot see anything behind him. Specifically, black is associated with evilness and death, which further emphasizes the horror of the plot as he is engulfed and surrounded by this color, and it adds more suspense when a shadow appears to quickly run behind him. It can be automatically assumed that something bad will happen to him, and he is likely to die from the black background that forbodes this. Filtering:     During the flashback, there will be white filtering in order to indicate that it is a flashback, so the audience isn't confused about how the story went backward or into the past. Additionally, there will be a slight green filteri

Main Character Analysis

Image
Main Character Analysis Jason Davis (Brother 1):      Jason Davis is the psychotic and mentally ill brother and he is the antagonist and one of the protagonists along with his brother since it focuses on their lives. He is a round and dynamic character. For instance, he is an insanely complex character with a crazy, spontaneous, unempathetic personality that leaves him and his brother in a predicament the entire time that develops throughout the film to reveal his vulnerability and emotions. The brother is weird, insecure, and timid, and speaks in a rapid and crazy manner and it is clear that he has some sort of mental illness. For example, his costume helps build this up as he wears all black to help show the darkness and evilness as he transforms into this insane person who rebels against his brother and suddenly disappears. Plus, he has messy, dirty hair with a bit of beard hair growing to exhibit his messiness and inability to take care of himself, which allows greater emphasis on
