Day 2 of Shooting

Day 2 of Shooting

Success!

I am so incredibly happy that Day 2 of Shooting was much more successful than Day 1 because it was stressing me out so badly. My stress was relieved and I was allowed to breathe, so thanks to my team members for helping me achieve this.

Day 2 Overview

We definitely did SOOOO much better on Day 2 of shooting. The first day was a huge disaster because we weren't even sure of the location of our filming and couldn't even act out the serious plot. However, we changed our plot and our actor (it's me now), and we are all good. Basically, we shot at the playground to finish all of the shots at our main location first, which was at Miramar Regional Park. Plus, we used the surrounding area, where nobody was there like the sidewalks, roads, and lake for some extra shots just in case we needed them for the title sequence. All of us were there including two of our friends (Logan and Isabella). They came along with us for emotional support and to also help us with filming. We utilized everything at the playground for filming, such as the swings, slides, bridge, and sand. The scenes where she walked to the playground, played with her dolls, went on the swings, and got kidnapped were all filmed. It was ideal to get as many shots as possible. Overall, we did pretty good with the time and situation that we had.

Challenges

Although it was a random hot Thursday after school, there were many children. I used to have dance practice after school at Miramar Regional Park and it was never busy, like it was an actual ghost town. However, it was surprisingly busy, so we found the least busy playground and waited until most of them left. The sun was going down so unfortunately we did have to start while there were still kids, so we tried to film in empty spots and decided to edit out the noise. Sometimes it became empty, but people started coming in again, so we moved to other spots for extra shots, while we waited for people to leave. We had to do the kidnapping scene, but we did not want to scare the other children around us with the skull mask, so it was hard to find the right moment. I wish it was less busy since we were in a time crunch and it is hard to find a time where everyone is available for filming. Fortunately, we got most of our scenes before it became nighttime, so it was a partial success!
